Sihirli Degnek (Bagcan), one of the highlights of our catalogue, had competed in the first ever Eurovision Song Contest National Final organized by the Turkish national broadcaster TRT, to win the clearance to be sent to the Swedish capital Stockholm in 1975. The track only scored the 3rd rank out of 15 entries in the Turkish final, which was lower than the expectations, yet it managed to win the hearts of millions of viewers who watched the show. A few months later, following the disappointment for Turkey in the European Final in Sweden, several music authorities are known to have said that a better result would have been achieved, if Sihirli Degnek had been sent to the European final, instead. In 1976, Sihirli Degnek was released as a vinyl single and managed to break a record in sales, and became one of the classics in Turkish music history.
