We are sorry to hear that George Martin, who signed the Beatles to a recording contract on the small Parlophone label after every other British record company had turned them down, and who guided them in their transformation from a regional dance band into the most inventive, influential rock group of the 1960s, died on Tuesday at his home in Wiltshire, England. He was 90.
We had met him a few times for various projects one of them being when we recorded Turkish Suite (Baydur) in his Air recording studio, in Hampstead, London. He was a great musician, producer and above all a true gentleman. We bow in front him with respect and thank him for giving millions around the world a lot of happiness through his incredible musical career.
